Introduction
According to the U.S. Department of Labor, roles such as exercise physiologist, athletic trainer, and physical therapist are expected to grow much faster than the average occupation through 2033.
This graduate program will give you a competitive edge for careers in clinical exercise physiology, strength and conditioning, coaching, fitness, and other wellness professions related to human movement. A master’s in exercise physiology also provides an excellent foundation for doctoral programs or continued study in the health professions.
Prepare for Industry Certification
Be well prepared for certifications from the American College of Sports Medicine(ACSM) or the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). We designed our concentrations specifically to align with industry standards.
Customize Your Capstone
Align your capstone with your career goals. Gain 300 hours of hands-on experience through an internship, complete an intensive research thesis on a topic you’re passionate about, or design your own culminating project.

The exercise physiology masters’ program is open to individuals who hold a bachelor's degree and show high promise of success in graduate study. To apply, you need:
- an undergraduate degree in a recognized area from an accredited institution
- an undergraduate cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
- a minimum of three credits of college math/statistics
The following documents are required for a complete application:
- Official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended
- Resume/CV
- Two letter(s) of recommendation
- Personal statement - in 400-600 words, explain your aims and goals for the program
Applicants are admitted on a rolling basis. However, for best consideration, applications for specific terms should be received by these dates:
- May 1 - for fall semester start
- Feb. 1 - for summer semester start
- Feb. 15 - for graduate assistant positions
