Program Overview & Outcomes

The M.S. in Biology is geared toward graduate-level research. You’ll work with a faculty mentor to develop a thesis project in an area you’re passionate about; many of our graduates continue their research at the doctoral level. The M.S. program is also a great step toward a variety of educational and environmental careers.

The M.A. in Biology does not require a thesis. This option builds a solid foundation for medical or professional school. It may also be fitting for a student who wants to gain advanced understanding of modern biology, but is not necessarily interested in pursuing original research.
